Day 50 12th
Bush camp and travel day. Also the creation of Ed's camp cooking (we have no tv what else are we meant to watch).
Day 51 13th Etosha National Park
After a later start than usual and a quick tour of the giant baobab tree (a very big tree that can reach a 30m diameter) we headed to Etosha National Park. Pretty much as soon as we arrived at our campsite we headed out again for the first of a series of game drives. It's hard to remember each individual game drive, but one thing that was common to all of them was the beautiful landscape heightened by the strong reds, purples and oranges of sunrise and sunset. The terrain varies immensly from mountains surrounded by long grass and numeous small trees to vast open spaces and salt pans. Perhaps though the Park's star attraction is its waterholes, both man-made and natural, which vehicles can drive up to and patiently wait for game or the campsites' inhabitants can sit by all night if they really so desire.
