After a quick pack up, we're on the road to Bryce Canyon, about 4 hours drive away. The dual lane highway is very scenic, with many lookouts over gorges and mountains along the way.
Bryce Canyon is actually an amphitheater full of colorful minarets, or hoodoos, as they are called here. Absolutely stunning! They looked like thousands of soldiers standing to attention. A 3k hike around the very edge of the rim reinforced how incredibly unique these features were, as they were carved away by rain and temperature variations rather than running water like normal canyons.
