Darn, missed Tai Chi again, Dad made it, he said it was quite easy until he had to stand on one leg and balance.
It was an early morning start, breakfast at 7.30am, as the boat passed through the WU Gorge – the second of the three gorges, here we could see Goddess Peak, there are 12 peaks in total, we stopped for landing at 8.30am for the days land excursion, although it was not much of a land based excursion as we had to get onto smaller boats which took us through the Lesser of Three Gorges, to see the huge towering walls, cliffs and steep moutains either side of the gorge. The first boat took us nearly two hours to then arrive at a smaller gorge, where we boarded the Sampo Boats. The boats were timber, like long boats - junk, a rudder at the back, with a real friendly faced fella at the front, that sang a Chinese love song, whilst we cruised.
On our return, we did see a few monkeys jumping from cliff to trip branch, but we missed seeing the mandarin ducks.
We are all enjoying this part of the trip, a slow down from the go go go, last week, after lunch, we listen to the commentary whilst cruising through the Qutong Gorge – the shortest of the three Gorges and the last, once violent waters, described as 'a thousand seas poured into a single cup', then the afternoon is free to relax, so I get some postcards done, download photos and get back to blogging.
And Mum, you’d be proud of Dad he washed all his underwear and hung it up, so now our cabin looks like a Chinese Laundry!
We meet for dinner, then listened to some dance music with a few drinks, then it was back to the cabin for a bit of a movie and Sharyn actually got onto the net (surprisingly) for work.
