Nothing beats a sunset over the sea in Tel Aviv. Today was a bit cloudy though so the sunset was not as colourful as it usually is but it was beautiful nonetheless. The sunset certainly cheered up my dull and gloomy day because of the text message I received earlier in the day from the school in Moscow.
Anna sent me a whatsapp message to let me know that they no longer want me at the school. First she blamed it on the drop in the ruble, then she said it was because they thought I was not suitable. Her message was long. She continued to say that they would not be refunding my airfares, which they had promised to me. Her excuse was because I had not completed my contract which I tried to explain to her that they had broken, not me. She also insisted I pay for my clothes that I had left there, to be returned to me. After replying to say I would fly over to collect all my things as it would work out cheaper, she quickly decided to send my things regular Russian mail which has no tracking and may never get to me all because she did not want me at the school. After being so very sweet and kind to me, she turned into a really mean and very rude person, dismissing me as if I was nothing.
So sad to end a working relationship this way as teaching at the school was a great experience and I know I did a great job while I was there!!!
