Paul McDonald Enjoyed reading along in the blog. Sometimes i couldn't tell whether i was reading them in the correct order but all were good. Thanks for writing it up. I am sure it will be nice to have done it when you can look at it again in the future and relive your trip. Also, it is too bad that the pictures couldn't be placed next to the appropriate place in the blog (videos, too), but i am sure that is not your problem but the blog creators.' All in all, what a fantastic summer you have had. Reminds me that i posted on Facebook once an article on how spending money on experiences creates happiness where spending money on "things" does not. You must all be happy right now. :)
re: Zurich, SwitzerlandSally No, not the hat! :( Well, it served its purpose.
re: Zurich, Switzerlandsherrie Hi Abby, Can I have a copy of this picture with a highest resolution that you have. It is an wonderful photo.
re: swan striking the poseLu It always goes too fast...so glad you did this! Welcome home!
re: Zurich, SwitzerlandPaul McDonald Hmm. Your caption sounds like a great name for a line of shirts.
re: life is goodPaul McDonald I can imagine this picture as a huge picture on a wall. It looks more like a painting than reality. Beautiful.
re: Water view from the parkPaul McDonald That's funny. Even before i saw your caption, i thought "That looks like something straight out of Dr. Seuss."
re: Funny clipped tree - Dr. Seuess likePaul McDonald When i was there, Switzerland was also MUCH cleaner than Italy.
re: Lucerne, SwitzerlandBreendur Neat!
re: Mirror tricksBreendur Love it!
re: Funny clipped tree - Dr. Seuess likeBreendur I remember how relieved I was this May to be in Vienna, where I could at least mostly understand what was going on around me (with my German)--as opposed to last summer in France when I was always confused and getting things I didn't intend! I have a friend who lives in Zurich at the moment and she was describing Swiss National Day--sounds like they celebrate with fireworks much like the 4th, too. And tell Noah I've always wondered why the turn the bed down too!
re: Lugano, SwitzerlandPaul McDonald One of the great things about travel, especially out of the country (and especially for kids and people who never have) is seeing how many customs are different than what we normally experience. Cultures are different everywhere and it is good to see that life can be lived in so many different ways -- and can be expressed in the arts in so many ways, too...and they are all interesting and worthy of existing. As Brenda said, part of what makes travel such a great adventure is discovering the intricacies and special things about each place.
re: Rome, ItalyCarol Jean When I was on my trip in May, Rick Steves was our personal travel guru and we experienced a lot of great things courtesy of his expertise. :) It sounds like you are having a lot of fun!
re: Rome, ItalyBreendur I remember really high ceilings in our hotel rooms in Italy! And strange bathrooms...If you dodn't learn as you go, it wouldn't be an adventure. :)
