Hello everyone! Due to a few complains about my blogging I thought I better get on with a new one! So we arrived at Christchurch which was nice. A lot colder then Sydney, and so so different. The scenery everywhere is stunning, and the people are really friendly. We picked up our campervan which is called Eagle, due to the massive eagle painted on the side, its really nice Hen drove it for the first few days as he has driven an automatic before, but now I am driving it mostly and it is actually really easier to drive. We have a little table in the back which folds away and turns into a bed. At the back of the van there is a small sink and a stove and some cooking things. When we got back from our first stocking up on food trip at the local Pak n'save lol I had all the shopping bags in my arms as I tried to get out forgetting how high it was and just fell out lol We stayed our first few nights in Foley Towers while we stocked up on things and got our bearings. There were pictures of Basil everywhere lol. We decided to move on and planned to stay in a serviced campsite (these have power, maybe hot water toilets etc) in Peel Forest (south of Christchurch), to turn up and find the campsite is closed for the winter leaving us to experience our first night of free camping. It was pretty dam cold! There was lots of frost and ice everywhere. After that night we went for a walk to see a Acland falls nearby then heading further south to a small town called Geraldine, which I have fallen in love with. Henry has been a bit poorly the last few days so we decided to stay at a BnB called the Rivendell BnB, and I was in desperate need of a shower. It is so nice here we are staying on a farm with frodo and bilbo the alpacas, some crazy sheep, a horse and a highlander. There are also 3 dogs which are very cute one is a half lab so he is my roo replacement for now. There give us fresh milk and cookies here :-) I got myself a possum hat and gloves at a little store which are really warm and was temped by all the alpaca clothes. Got some of the local chedder today to have on my pasta tonight which should be good. Possible plans for tomorrow include a trip to Fairlie and to lake Tekapo which should be really exciting. Hope everyone is OK at home. Don't have any mobile signal here at the moment Mums. Byd for now! Abbey, Hen, Frodo and Bilbo x x x x x x
