The happiest place on earth! Where, as they say, dreams come true. It was pretty amazing to be there, it is like the one place you want to go from whenever you're old enough to realise what's going on. Disney always makes me feel nostalgic anyway.

First thing's first though - when we arrived in Anaheim we got to our 'hostel', which turned out to be a motel and a really dodgy one at that. There was a family in the front office whinging about a bunch of things, and warned us against staying there. We didn't have lights that worked, the lock was a bit dodgy, the beds were really squeaky and horrible and they were charging us $70 bucks a night but there was nowhere else to stay and we survived the week. They did have really awesome raspberry M n M's in the vending machine...I'm not really sure how old they were since we never saw them anywhere else but awesome.

The first day at Disneyland was so exciting, I felt like a big kid again! First stop once we were inside was the hat shop, where we bought our minnie ears (which became standard attire for the rest of our days there). We met Goofy and Captain Hook, then started lining up for rides. Proudly, we managed to do every single ride in Disneyland itself, and most of the rides (except for a couple of the kiddie ones) in California Adventure Park during the five days we were there. Favourites for both of us were Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Twilight Zone and the Mickey rollercoaster. It was also very exciting riding the teacups and the dumbo ride!

In all honesty, after five days of theme parking, it got a bit much. But I still loved (almost) every minute of it. Besides meeting Goofy and Captain Hook, we met Mickey, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Pluto, Minnie and Gepetto (who ran off before we got photos, bah!).

The parades and shows were really fun, and the fireworks display they do every night is spectactular.

Disneyland consumed the majority of our time in Anaheim, but there was also the all important BAKERS SQUARE. Oooooh, the pies... so in America they have never heard of putting meat in a pie, which is a bit strange, but this place definitely made up for it with their dessert pies. We went back almost every day and split a couple of slices. It was just as sad to leave it behind as it was to leave Disneyland. Nat, you must go there and bring me back more pie. PIE.
