Hello everyone!It's good to hear from everyone again, as well as the couple of recent ones we haven't heard from in awhile, welcome back! Well, Machu Picchu, as all the books said, "never fails to impress". We awoke at 4am last Sunday to set out and tackle the 1700 some odd steps to reach the ancient citadel. Not too much to add today, but wanted to wish everyone a belated happy 2008...we spent it out in richy richville in Lima...a shopping and eating extravaganza right on the water called Larco Mar. Since we had a 5am flight out of Lima on the first and needed to be at the airport by 330am, we figured that we might as well join the rest of the idiots and stay up all night. We found ourselves a nice cafe to people watch and avoid US prices with the set New Year's me...

Question for the day…How many people can you fit into a VW Vanagon type vehicle?(Answer at the end of the blog…)After our beach time in Huanchaco (mom, dad - because of you I first wrote Huangchaco!), we hopped on yet another night bus to Huaraz, eight hours south. This bus ride was much more enjoyable, as it boasted ¨semi-camas¨(partial beds) and even had a stewardess of sorts. We still did not manage to sleep much because of getting tossed...
