A and J World Trip
G'day everyone!!
Hope you're all well in chilly old Blighty!!! You'll be pleased to know that it's blue skies and sunshine days this end...tan progress is good! Very strange sitting on beaches in November.
Anyway, we're 4 weeks into Oz and just having the most amazing time. Have seen so many diverse things already and we're only a little way down one coast....the vastness just blows your mind. Travelling by camper is proving great fun - just the change we needed from lugging the backpacks and the freedom is fantastic. We've imaginatively named our camper 'Roo' and he's doing us proud. Compact but cosy!!
There are just too many sights to mention here....mental note to write more regularly! The Barrier Reef has to be tops and we've been on it several times from Cairns and the Whitsundays - fish and coral gallore - just incredible. The whole coast has been stunning and there's been plenty of beach time relaxing and even a spot of body boarding thrown in.
Wildlife here is definitely on the wild side and has taken a bit of adjusting to. Birds are huge, bugs are massive and every day we're seeing new things. Just magic seeing koalas, kangaroos, pelicans, parrots, possams, dingos....you name it....roaming about. Loving it.
People have also featured strongly. We had a great couple of days meeting Andy's Dad and Sue, who were also touring the East coast and we had a brilliant laugh with Greg (Andy uni mate living in Sydney) and Cat driving a 4x4 far too fast around the sandy Fraser Island.
So all in all, WT is still delivering even better than expected. Long may it go on.....just can't believe that we toasted 5 months the other day :(
Lots of love
A&J xx
