HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!! Hoping that you all had a lovely Christmas and New Years. We certainly did 'down under' in sunny Australia. Mark and J excelled themselves and turned our peaceful WT into a luxury, whirlwind tour!! What fun we had! How exciting to see them at the airport and start the two week catch up. Inbetween chattering we still managed to see a lot of Melbourne, cramming bars, restaurants, shopping, city sights, wine tasting tours and the Great Ocean Road into three days! A great city. Then it was off to Oak Beach for a sunshine Christmas in our own gorgeous villa. Not to be put off by the storms on arrival (!) we kept optimistic for a blue sky Christmas day. Luckily it all came good and we were sunbathing in 39 degrees by the afternoon. The boys made a special effort to dress up (see the photo) and we all had a lovely day eating and drinking far too much. It was weird to be away from home and people were definitely missed, but we did have an amazing time. Uluru was our next stop, for 24 hours! In that time we packed in a sightseeing tour, a sunset meal, a sunrise camel ride and hiring a car to get up close to the 'rock'. Awesome! Finally, the big finale....Sydney for NY eve. And what a choice. In the run up to the big night we enjoyed beach time, took an incredible helicopter flight (thanks so much boys) and sampled a random selection of Sydneys night life! Then it was party time and we had the perfect venue right next to the harbour bridge. It was fantastic....the fireworks, the party, even the long walk home! Just superb. What a brief round up of a fabulous two weeks. Sad to say farewell at the airport, but they had Thailand and we had NZ to look forward to...not so bad! Back to basic WT for us now!
