A and J World Trip
Hello everyone
Finally we are getting up to date on the site - lots of photos added today from the last few weeks. A relief for us!
Spending 4 weeks now in China, our love of the country has really grown. It has taken a while...the scale is so big and there is some 'bad and ugly' to overlook....but we're there now.
Next stop after Sichuan was the Yangtze river for a 'cruise'. Great experience and the Gorges were beautiful, but romantic notions of a picture postcard river were definitely put to rest...the river is brown, full of rubbish and not very pretty for most of the journey! The water level is rising due to the massive dam being built and some of the scenery has already been lost under the 100m they've flooded. Not the China highlight we'd hoped for and quite good to get off the boat at the end!
Heading next to Zhangjiajie, our expectations were this time exceeded, by the drammatic rock scenery in this National Park. The views took your breath away and made you forget the hard walking to reach them....more endless steps! An excellent couple of days off the tourist track. We were a complete novelty as a Western couple and were minor celebrities during our stay...quite nice!
Hope all is good with you.
Lots of love A&J xx
