Milly didn't want to do the 2.6 km walk to Kathleen springs but Jed said lets go. The walk was nice and gentle on flat ground and led us into a rocky gorge with a nice little waterhole at the end. Had all good intentions of being up at 4.30 to leave camp by 5 to get to the canyon to see the sunrise and beat the heat. It was so peaceful in the swag and with a little breeze it certainly wasn't to hot and this made it difficult to rise! Camp for night 8 30 K's short of kings canyon on the the merinnie loop. Finally we got our s*** together and setup up camp in a relaxed fashion with plenty of time before dark and sat down and watched the sunset with a beer in hand!
