They're Here! A bit of a grimy day to start with; rain-thunder and lighting; cleared to fair in the afternoon. The parade started in Quartermaster Harbor and the down the Ruston Waterfron to the Thea Foss waterway. Mark and Lynn Marvin joined as co-shipmates and provided a grand salmon dip for nibbles as we cruisied along at 3knots; it a sail boat issue. They put the sails down and then motored along, kind of like driving with your emergency brake set. The one item not checked -batteries in the camera- they gave up the ghost after 5 snaps. That's now corrected and two[2] sets of spares are in the 1st Mates purse for stowage during the mid-watch; 8pm to 2am; waterway partol shift. So far the First Mate has not mutinied on staffing her shifts; think that Molly who's coming in from Helena MT tonite may get one[tommorrow] and Mark has grandly offered to do Saturday night. So the Midwatches are covered; and only the cruise shifts and afternoon patrol shifts need a Mate. Well it's 17:40 and time to refresh of the 19:00 on the water beginning of the patrols.
Lots of coverage also in the local press see http://thenewstribune.com
