The City of Angels, CA
California is truly blessed. It has an amazing climate with consistent doses of sunshine yet seasonal changes that allow for crackling fires. It is where the mountains meet the sea. There is a vibe of creativity and a supreme mix of characters. Don't get me wrong; it's not perfect by any means. We walked through some pretty intense struggling humanity on Hollywood Boulevard and dealt with rush hour style traffic- and it was well outside of rush hour. This perfect-imperfect place leaves me with more questions than answers. The primary source of intrigue- the strong presence amongst many of its people of the pattern of chill.
Where does the chill come from?
Does California attract it?…or produce it?
If it is produced, where can I buy it?
With just a 24 hour layover, we took in THE HOBBIT at Mann's Chinese theater and looked for our favorite stars' stars on the Boulevard then did some driving out near Santa Monica and Venice. It was a total cheese fest but still I caught glimpses of the chill. The question of its source resonated as we made our way around. I yearned to make my way to what I suspected could be chill epicenters- like Santa Barbara, Napa, San Francisco but time did not allow. I left more curious then ever and have decided to conduct a study and need the following volunteers to come forth please:
100 Californians
100 Non Californians who don't live in a place near the mountains and/or sea
100 Non Californians who do live in a place near the mountains and/or sea
An MRI tech that can scan and report on variations of vagus nerves and hippocampuses
A geologist who can take random sampling of the earth and report on mineral content especially the presence of amethyst
A water specialist who can take and break down various samplings
A lab tech that can collect and evaluate urine of all participants
A dietician who can trace food sources, track consumptions and hypothesize impact
A sociologist who can study and weigh in on possibility of spillover into local culture from the charmed lifestyles of entertainment industry elite
An additional 100 non Californians who either suffer from panic attacks or have been/should be in anger management to submit themselves to live in California and submit to scans prior to and after
California property owners to house the above panic/anger management group
It may seem a bit maniacal, but don't you see people, some time in California could replace that nightly glass of wine, the xanax, the impulsive shopping, nail biting, the need for any form of self-medicating. For the good of humanity we have to uncover what's going on.
