Starting off the day with breakfast we were all really excited to get to climb the pyramids (unaware of the giant climb ahead). Before we went to the pyramids we visited the st Mary's church of the basilica Guadalupe, and met up with another guide group from London who because of our dislike for them it brought us and the girls from Anglia closer and we mingled more. The church itself was absolutely beautiful and once we had been inside where a mass was taking place almost all our rangers said they felt an overwhelming sense of emotion and the need to cry, this just shows how a country true to there faith can impact it's visitors with there religion.
After an amazing traditional Mexican meal with great cultural entertainment we headed to the pyramids, after 300+ steps we ended up at the top, well most of us got there, the view from the top was spectacular and was very high up indeed, after taking all the photos we wanted it was time to head back down to the bottom which was a whole new experience, most of us butt shuffled down the stairs one at a time as it was health and safety gone wild with no banisters.
When we got back to the hotel we all had a shower as we smelt like a farm and looked like we had walked through the Sahara desert before we headed out for tea and ended up with Maccies and Starbucks. Today has been an amazing experience and our search for Juan Pedro Alejandro Miguel the cactus ranger mascot continues we will keep you posted ☺
