Too Cold For Penguins
Hello All!
Since San Pedro we travelled far south to Puerto Montt which is the gateway to Patagonia. Unfortunately after lots of research the idea of going further south to Patagonia has been abandoned due to it costing too much, taking so long and the weather reports were looking pretty miserable.
Instead we are leaving Chile early to New Zealand and the last few days we have been in Puerto Octay, north of Puerto Monnt. We have stopped in a fantastic hostel called Zapato Amarillo and the views of the snow capped mountains and volcanoes are fantastic. Yesterday we made a trip to Aguas Calientes in the Puyehue National Park. We did a small uphill trek here to a view point overlooking the lake and mountains where we had a picnic and for a change the sun was shining.
Tomorrow we are heading off to Pucon to hopefully do some horse trekking, weather permitting.
Hope you are all well,
Love Ben and Helen xxx
