Train trip was great. Booked into same motel that we stayed in when we first landed to start the holiday. A 4:00am start to the day. We had breakfast at the airport after that we were ready to catch two planes for home. All our luggage is under weight even after buying extra gear whil we were away which is good. Weather is great in Greymouth beautiful sunshine and warm weather. Pat Organised everything for the return trip and found that the train isn't running due to land slips and undermining of the rail line. If the Transalpine train doesn't run we'll have to bus across the north pass as Arthur's pass is closed for all traffic road and rail. The bridge between Hari Hari and Hotika has finally been fixed after washing out last week with the floods, I'm not sorry that it took a while for us to get here. We hoped it was fixed before we had to leave Queenstown so that we would not have to make the decision to abondon the train journey & Franz Joseph Glacier and go directly to Christchurch. Still raining on and off but looked like clearing mid morning Put heliflight back hoping for a break Went back to Fox Glacier for a look and rain came back in. Canned heliflight and headed for Greymouth.

There are so many activities to do here that you are spoilt for choice. We planned to do as many of them as was reasonable. We went up onto the mountain on the Gondola, had a blast on the luge ride, Pat, myself and Silvia while Frank had the camera taking photos.
