With this video I´m trying to give you a taste of what life is like here in Valencia during Fallas. Well, actually the mascletás take place two weeks before Fallas actually starts. I thought they only did it on March 1st, so on March 2nd, when I was napping at 2pm and heard this coming in through my window, I honestly thought war had broken out. Scary then, funny now. Anyway, the video really doesn´t do it justice so my recommendation is to turn up the volume as much as possible and press your ear directly to it. Just kidding! Honestly though you just stand there in the Plaza de Ayutamiento, packed in with tons of other people and feel your body shake from the explosions. You can´t cover both ears at one time or they´ll rupture. And if for some bizarre reason you were to not like this spectacle the Valecians would kill you. Well maybe not, but you would lose some friends. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. It is an experience unlike any other.
