Hello... We have a day to spend with not much to do, so rather than spend all day in a cafe I thought i would put some pictures on line. However, it seems that Uruguay internet cafe's don't like you to download pictures onto their computers so you're getting an email instead. Montevideo turned out not to be a highlight of this trip. We booked into a hotel that had no fan and only a small window overlooking a concrete wall and the toilets. It's about 33 degrees and there's lots of mossies. First night here i got bitten badly and had to eat antihistamines and put lots of cream on... Managed to go to a chemist because I had run out of mossie repellant and all they had was Johnsons Baby Oil with insect repellant. Which seems to work and i'm very soft now as well! Then we found we couldn't book a bus to where we want to go, which was either Ascunsion in Paraguay or Fos de Iquazu until Tuesday, and there is no way i am spending 5 days here! So we have taken a little detour to some port in Brazil. Only 12 hours by bus! However, we have also thrown away our Uruguain tourist entry cards so we may have some issue at the border. We came to Uruguay on the boat, and we have been told by the bus man that the ticket issued is also your tourist card for entry and exit... and we thought it was just a ticket. Whoops. Hoping that they are not going to send us back to Montevideo to get a new one, not sure I could cope. (If your wondering why we don't try to get one today, it's sunday and immigration is closed... ) So.. Colonia.. very nice... Montevideo... not nice. Bus at 9pm tonight, so a bit of lunch and maybe a stroll by the sea to look forward to. I'll try and stick some photos on when, .. if.. we get to Brasil. Oh yeah... we saw our first christmas tree today! loads of love.... murray.
