Hello! I've just come from my spanish lesson and am fluent now. Got 1 1/2 hours of lessons every day now for the next week. Woopee! I start work today as well in the childrens home. My hours at the moment are 2.30 to 4.30 monday to friday which leaves me with quite a lot of free time! Although there is lots of other projects to join in on. Beer is very alcoholic and I found out on saturday that the altitude makes it even more alcoholic. I was a bit squiffy...

Made it. I was on the wrong flight into La Paz but both me and my luggage got here. Flat is very nice. I'm living with Consuelo and here daughter Vanya. Vanya speaks a bit of English which is a lifesaver. Been for lunch with another volunteer and now off to get some food in.

At Heathrow airport at the moment, and should be in La Paz in 24 hours if all goes well. Not too sure about my luggage, as the nice lady at check in wasn't very sure about where it would be going to. I didn't like to argue as she hadn't charged me for my excess luggage and was busy sticking 'very heavy' labels all over it. I'll update you when I've settled in.

Went to Urmiri hot springs for the weekend, it's about 3 hours outside of La Paz in the middle of the desert. Springs were really hot and it was great to be clean for a couple of days! The hotel is still high at 3800m, and i think i'm still aclimatising after a week. Wondering whether i will in 3 months or not. Food was excellant. Spent the weekend either in a spring or in the dining room. The others all had massages as well, but there was no way I was letting D...
