Hello! Well, we managed to avoid a 25 hour bus journey... I got off the bus after a mere 17 hours and got chatting to some guy who told us we could go into the Pantanal from where the bus was stopped. Hurrah. So we got off, got on another bus and a mere 5 hours later we were in middle of the pantanal. We stayed in a groovy place with little huts on stilts. Went off on boats up the river, alligator and monkey spotting, horseriding through the wetlands and a little light trekking through the jungle. The mosquitos were horrific and I got bitten through t-shirts, long sleeves and repellant and alothough the place was fantastic, we couldn't take the mosquitos any more. We are in Bonito now which is not far from the pantanal, but the mossies don't seem to like it here which is great. Been to a cave this morning which was cool and off to float down some rivers tomorrow and go mountain biking. Brill! m.
