Keeping track of murray
Had a fantastic weekend, once I had managed to get out of the high security gating system at home. I had a 20 minute conversation with consuelo and thought we had agreed that the gates wouldn't be locked because i needed to leave at 6.30am on saturday..... 6.30am on saturday i find i'm locked in, luckily an old guy from next door got up in his pyjama and slippers and staggered down to the street gate to let me out. Obviously my spanish on locked gates is not good. We left La Paz at 7am and drove up to the highest point of the road out of La Paz, at 4700 metres it was snowing and freezing cold. There we picked up our bikes for a 3500 metre downhill bike ride on the worlds most dangerous road... it was cloudy all the way down so we couldn't see any of the drops, which was just as well really and made it all the way down without any serious accidents, the ones who did hit a couple of lorry's survived.. the lorry's were going very slowly. Made to it coroico 5 hours later and booked into a hotel for a well deserved swim and few bottles of wine. The trip back to La Paz was a bit scary as the clouds burnt off on Sunday and the drops were all too visable... don't worry Elle, I'll do it again when you get here, and i'll stick some photos on the site so you can see what your getting into.
We are having a games week with the kids this week, which is a bit strenuous, but they are all loving it. I haven't squashed any on twister yet, but it is only tuesday, plenty of time yet!
