Robert Pefrum GP flew over Hainan Island on the way to Hong Kong in about 1954. The Chinese MIG fighters had shot down a Cathay Pacific passenger airliner and the RAF piston engined aircraft that I was on just landed in HK before being sent back to search for survivors. Not a good memory !
re: Chinese HawaiiMichele I am glad to hear that you made it safely and adjusting to Chinese life. Keep up the blog Jenn. It is a great way to keep in touch. Miss you both.
re: The Sounds of JinanJeremy Awesome stories! I'm glad you've found a blog site to keep us all up to date. I look forward to reading more of your adventures and learning how you adapt/adjust. Good luck!
re: Jinan City: cultural experiencesAli Oh my goodness, please keep updating this. I love the idea of experiencing some of Jinan, even if it is from way over here. I really wish I got to see you before you left, but I hope you understand why I couldn't.
re: Jinan City: cultural experiencesRobert Pegrum If you think squat toilets are a problem try using one as we did in Nepal, This consisted of a tent 24 inches square with a divot taken out of the turf, your aim needed to be straight! The "toilet" was shared by 8 of us but was better than using the facilities at a coffee house. GM & GP
re: Jinan City: cultural experiencesKerith I am glad you found a blog site! as for squat toilets, I wish you luck, I would have peed on myself. lol I look forward to seeing more posts!!
re: Jinan City: cultural experiencesK Wynands You're not 5'11 silly girl!! :p Ash and I experienced squat toilets in Peru - they are something special! Just wait til your quads are sore one day and you cant hold yourself in squat position - its dangerous! Glad things are going well!
