I have had the most incredible day! No stress, no worries, no drama - just a relaxing, fun and adventurous day! I was lucky enough to get a little sleep in this morning as my bus didn't leave until 9! I woke up and walked up to the bus station before hopping on my bus to Bled. Bled is only about an 1 away from Ljubljana so it was a relatively short trip! Bled was everything I ever expected! It is a beautiful town situated around a beautiful lake that is an absolutely gorgeous turquoise green colour! When I hopped off the bus I walked down to the lake and started my walk! There was a guy from my bus walking just behind me and we would stop and take photos around the same places - I felt like I was stalking him ha ha. I had to stop so I didn't ruin a photo and when walking past they apologised and of course I replied saying it was fine. The guy behind me must of heard me speak and a few minutes later he asked if I was from England! For the past 3 weeks I have been constantly asked if I'm from England and it has been everybody I've encountered! His name is Martin and he is from London, but working as an architect in Germany. We started talking because his Mother was from Melbourne and he had lived there and with only one direction to whether we like it or not we were stuck with each other ha ha. It was nice to have someone to talk to after traveling on my own for 9 days now! We sat down and had an ice-cream and started to talk about what there actually was to do in Bled after you've walked around the lake! I had seen a waterfall that was around the area and he had a Slovenian friend that told him about a place called Bohinj, which to the locals is more beautiful than Bled and is where they go as opposed to Bled! We decided to catch a bus to Bohinj and it was entirely worth it! It was stunning!! It was a tiny town with no tourists. The town itself was taken up by an enormous lake and all around was huge mountains and on some of the peaks you could see snow! It was amazingly beautiful! Everything was really green and the views were breathtaking! We left behind a beautiful sunny day at Bled to venture up a huge mountain to clouds and cold weather. The views from the top were incredible! We walked around for a while and went and got a drink while waiting for our cable car. We sat outside for a while but it got too cold and we had to move in. When we were outside a mountain gist walked on to the deck and a man cane out and started clicking it away. It was so funny! When we had finished our drinks the strangest thing happened! All of a sudden we were apart of a traditional Slovenian church service! A man dressed like the pope appeared and there were bells being played and a traditional brass band in full traditional clothing! We walked to the side and stood as we watched the service waiting for our cable car! When we got to the bottom we walked along the lake and in to town. We still had a few hours to wait so we found this awesome bar that looked very German and sat down for a drink! For half a litre of beer it was only 2€ - so cheap!! Today I tried a traditional food called a burek - it was like a long and skinny sausage roll! It was quite delicious! We caught the last bus back to Ljubljana and we got back at around 11:00pm! Finally, I was back safe and sound and I wandered back to the hostel and my room mate (I'm terrible - I can't remember her name!!) and I debriefed on our day! She went to Piran today and was going to Bled tomorrow! Tonight it was her turn to vent as she had tried to withdraw money and it didn't give any to her but it still took the money! It turned out to be near 2000€ and understandable she was quite stressed!! Luckily I had met a girl during my travels that experienced the same thing and got her money back, so fingers crosses it works out for her!! I definitely ended my European adventures on a positive note as I had an amazing day and made a friend in the process! :) I go back to the UK tomorrow!! The countdown for home has started and I'm so unbelievably EXCITED!! :)
