Considering all bus drivers in Bali fancy them selves as ralley car drivers, the road from Lovina to Amed seemed as though it was designed as a trail to filter out only the best drivers the island has to offer the world. So after a couple of nights in Kuta planning for our last week in Bali we made our way to Lovina. It was a long dangerous trip, taking just over 4 hours and a few near car crashes. At one point my forehead actually hit the windscreen, when the driver (who couldnt have been much older than 16) tried to over take traffic by driving on the wrong side of the road! (this happens often in Bali) luckily he thought better of killing us all and slammed on the breaks just...

So after fending off a bloke trying to buy my guitar while we were waiting for our Bus to Mataram, we found out, that as our hotel was in the middle of, "butt f*** nowhere," the bus driver was refusing to drop us there and only to Mataram City Centre. So we climbed on the bus, chucked our bags onto the roof and had a few heated interactions with the driver…. Long story cut short (after I cut his ears off) ,we not only got dropped directly to our hotel, but...

Our return to the Mainland of Lombok began with slight disappointment…. We hurried from the paradise of the Gili Islands with the idea of making the most of our time and spending a week in Kilimantan (Indonesian Borneo). We had bought a ticket from a guy who was covering all our return transport from Gili with an open ticket allowing us to stop over in Lombok for as long as we liked, and then included an additional bus to the boat port of Lombok, a 5 hour bo...

So after many hours and many cans of Fanta, we arrived at the Lombok port of Bansal, waiting for our final short boat crossing and trying to find a bin for some Oreos wrappers collected over the journey.... We new we were close as the offers for excursions to the moon, magic mushrooms and marijuana could be heard from all angles. We hoped we weren't about to re-experience Kho Phi Phi......
