Hello everyone!

It's now time for a Merry Christmas blog which has come up to bite us on the bums! Where has all the time gone?! Having fun in the heat, we suppose!!

We have been having a bit of a hectic time of it the last couple of weeks including out turtle watching sessions, big drives and a hospital visit!! Nice...!

The turtles were incredible, we went to this place just outside of Bundaberg called Mon Repos and every season these huge loggerheads amongst others ciome back to their birthplace after 40 long years at sea...how they do it will baffle us forever...quite incredible. We were lucky enough to see a huge loggerhead laying her eggs and as she hadn't been tagged it was the first time she had ever laid and been back to Mon Repos since her birth! We sta in the pitch black about 2ft away from her and watched as her eggs fell into the chamber she had spent a long while creating... Unfortunately, her eggs were an odd shape and a few of them broke as thye were coming out which was really hard to see....they thought she may just be having first time issues but apparently that doesn't happen very often.. So we hope that she has been back already and laid another lot of all healthy eggs...! We wathced her cover her eggs and then walked with her down to the sea...an awe inspiring experience that we will never, ever forget.

On Thursday night, I was pretty poorly and we had a little trek to hospital, thatnk goodness for travel insurance! They gave me an injection in my bum to stop the sickness and some antibiotics as I appear to have some kind of kidney Infection and my body's way of teeling me was to keep me up all night (and the poor hubby!) walking to and from the toilet(about 100m away) and making great friends with lots of plastic bags!! Oh don't you worry the mystery and romance is still most certainly alive in our marriage!!!

We are now in Airlie Beach for Christmas..in a great campsite with a huge pool and waterslides and outdoor movies at night..it's awesome plus think of us tonight..your morning..when we'll be singing carols by the pool in the sweltering heat!

We started Christmas eve in a rather posh way...well Tim did anyway...I however couldn't join him having been rough in the night again (let's hope these antibiotics kick in!). He went on a flight over the GBR (Heart Reef)and the Whitsundays...he came back beaming and said that the banking of the plane so he could see stuff made him feel a bit rough so I'm sure I would have graced the entire plane with my illness had I gone...! As you will see from the photo's it was a wonderful thing to do..am truly gutted that I couldn't go but an excuse to come back someday to do it again!?!
