It's funny, our boarding time was at 10:30 am and departure was at 11:30 am. 11:30 came and went, no one was even slightly concerned about all these people lined up to board a non-existent plane. Beautiful Rio We arrived in Rio de Janeiro after a smooth flight from Santiago- Buenos Aires. Apparently we just missed many days of rain, and are happy to book a city tour for our first full day in Rio. Our day started at 9 am with a visit to the statue of Christ the Redeemer where we saw monks humming beautiful hymns in Portuguese, right next to the russian secret service who were there to protect the Russian president! Our 3 week break in T.O. We were very lucky to be able to go back to Toronto to take care of some administrative things an see all the people that we missed. The main reason for this return was the wedding of Andrew's oldest friend, and that could not be missed!
