I arrived back in Kota Kinabalu yesterday for the last night of our Intrepid Advenuture. It really has been a whirlwind over the last few weeks with every day packed with loads to do. All of the activities have been great but what has made it really good has been the other people on the tour and our fearless leader Awang. Everyone has got properly stuck in and it seems to have gone like clockwork, from the sun arriving on que at the top of the mountain to the loved up couple of Orangutans holding hands shuffling past us on our night walk.
I would defo recommend Borneo to anyone who wants something a bit different and this tour has been a great way to see it all hassle free. For our grand finale we had a gorgeous meal overlooking the sea and a few cheeky tiger beers. No prizes for guessing who was one of the last ones up and listening to her ipod at 1.30 am on the balcony, some things never change eh!?
So today is a bit of a chilled day for me, I have had a few new items on my "list' such as....collect mums coat from the airport after leaving it on the plan yesterday, buy factor 50 suncream and upload some photos but mostly I will be relaxing by the pool and trying to remember some of the skills and theory of scuba diving!
Most of the people from the tour have now either gone home or carried on travelling but Bec and Olly from Birmingham are still here which is great because they were also the last ones up with me last night :) But we wont be repeating it tonight because my pick up for the airport is at 4.15 am tomorrow....boo
Next stop is the Mabul resort with Borneo Divers for 3 nights where I will be diving twice a day at Sipadan, one of the top 10 dive sites in the world!! Very excited/sh*tting myself as it sounds like there are lots of sharks and othe big sea creatures - but I am trusting my instincts and going for it!!
Will try and put some more piccies up when I next get to a computer, wish me luck!

Glad you only encountered nice monkeys and the baby turtles being released that's awesome, would love to see that sure it beats one born every minute hands down! Cazza Colwill Yo Yarwood sounds like you are having the time of your life!!! I'm making do with Manchesters Tiki lounges to wisk me away from the cold weather!!! Good luck with the scuba diving, just remember if those sharks get too close punch 'em in the nose they won't like that n they'll know your not to be messed with ;-) xxxx miss ya
Yarwoodchris Wow all yarwoods snuggled up reading auntie Kate's adventures for bedtime story :) loving reading about your amazing experiences. The girls are not sure about your shark post and want me to ask you the following :) are the sharks big and are they bad? Have you got any protection? Are you nervous and are you going to be eaten? I have answered no to most of the above so that they can get to sleep! We'll definitely be checking in on you tomorrow night for our next chapter of Kate's adventures :) xx night god bless love ya xxxxx
Ju Last post was Ju Kate but some reason it came up Chris Yarwood
Emma Ha ha - this made me laugh - who on earth would stay up to the early hours drinking beer with a 4am airport pick up!!! I think I only got a couple of hours sleep - thank goodness for the lawyer sleep-depravation training. Hope all is well my dear and it's not too tough back in colder climes! xx
