After some flying kisses from Abigail and Levi, I waved goodbye to KL and took the short flight over to Borneo. I arrived a day early for the tour so I had time to chill and get my bearings, you know us Yarwood's like to be early!
First impressions of Kota Kinabalu (KK) not great but I put this down to the constant torrential rain. Never the less I dragged myself around the markets, shops and noodle stalls double checking The List to make sure I have everything I need for the climb. To be honest I have been feeling VERY nervous about Mt Kinabalu, the lonely planet has some scary things to say about the trek and I am not looking forward to the 'can't I pay someone to finish this for me?' stage. But somehow, I really hope I manage to do it. Fingers crossed eh...
So after a quiet first night in Borneo with the home comforts of a hotel room and movie channel (Demi Moore in the Juror' if you're interested - I wouldn't bother!) I decided to book a day trip today as our tour group were not meeting until 6pm. As there was a break in the clouds I went on a boat trip to an island off KK and managed some snorkelling and beach time, felt like a proper holiday for a few hours!
Latest news is that I have met my group tonight and all seem really nice, down to earth and up for a laugh. A mixture of British and Australian, similar age to me and we are all equally nervous about the climb which is strangely reassuring. I'm also getting some good tips about where to go next, I had almost decided on Vietnam last night but Bali is back in the game after talking to the Aussie's tonight. I'll keep you posted.
Adios for now peeps

PS, CBB update pls Jenny? Jayne? Karen? Don't let me down ladies!
