After a gruelling 2 weeks of building stressing and a few disagreements we finally left Jos' house and headed down to Folkestone to the Eurotunnel via a trip to see grandad in Chichester. It took over an hour to find a lay-by to stop in for the night as stu couldn't decided where he liked the look of or a lorry was taking up the entire space. Eventually a muddy pit stop was spotted and quickly taken advantage of, it now being late and getting tired we quickly closed down ship and got into bed.
A 5:30 am start seemed only minutes after closing my eyes, got up took the dogs for a walk to find 500yds down the road a nice flat lay-by and no mud TYPICAL.
Off to the tunnel with a few strange looks as we pass through customs the first question was "what is that sticking out the roof?" after explaining all on our merry way we went. 40 minutes later through dreary Calais into Belgium that quite frankly is no better into Luxembourg, 7 hours later and hey presto in Germany. A truly tried hysteria moment when stu was already lay by spotting which is as pervy as it sounds but I think one of those you had to be there moments.
Anyway into German countryside along the moselberge river down the valley through all the vineyards into a little, very pretty village called Piesport we make are first proper motorhome stop and you guessed it, it was closed, but luckily we had spotted some other ones a few minutes earlier so back we went still in the same place to now our first motorhome stop. Plugged our selves in, fire on kettle boiling, pasta being cooked and cinnamon rolls in the oven all done on the wood burner. Best thing ever.
Sitting here now relaxing trying to keep my eyes open thinking about crawling into bed.
