Glad to hear you are back in the land of technology. Sounds like a wonderful adventure.
Would have thought that a wet Le Mans should have prepared you for the trip.
You are right about the sand flies - we got bitten in Malaysia (couldn't understand why no one was on the beach). I managed to get 26 in one day - most of which went sceptic.

Hi Chris
Great to hear from you Venezuela certainly sounds like fun, I dont think Debbie would like the wildlife!!
We had some great news two days ago, we are now grandparents, Helen had a boy on the 7th and all is well.
Hooray today its raining only the third day of rain for nearly two months, the gardens and forests really need it.
Safe travels and keep the blogs going
Cheers

Hi Chris,
Sounds as though you are having a great time. I expect your are now on your way to NZ, I think that was your next destination after South America. I have mailed Trudi to say you will possibly in Christchurch around the 12th Aug.
All well here, Michael will be back for his MET interview on the 17th, but he will be going back to Afghanistan for 6 weeks after that. Seems as though he has decided to come out of the army, at last.
Anyway, have fun down under and its good to hear from you.
Take care

Hi Winnie, great to see you are enjoying your travels. Have just had a month in France and set off next Thurs from Fobbing to cycle around Oireland for St Lukes Hospice, that will take care of the whole of August I tell you this as I will have limited access to the net so if you need info re Nepal and that area let me know early so I can deal with it. The bonus is that I will be with the man with all the contacts and full knowledge of the area so will be able to pick his brains on your behalf.
Look after yourself and keep on keeping on.
All the best Chris Hadley

Hi Chris,
Hadn't ben on the blog for a while and had catching up to do, you've got around. Headiing for South America sounds like a whole new adventure, not to mention languages. A good tip that has always kept me in good stead is that if at first you are not understood speak louder. If that doesn't work shout (but remember to leave spaces between each word) also wave hands around making expansive gestures. Well my work is done, that should get you through most of South America. Have a great time.

Hi Chris
Good to hear from you, I love the email you sent me with your reply "are you Australian.." told everyone up the pub, they loved it. Debbie like a dog with two !!! as we now have a 16 foot dia x 4 foot deep swimming pool, I have built it by the side of the garage so it gets sun all day. The weather has been consistant for the last 3 weeks sunshine and around the upper 20's lowers 30's and it should continue thro to Sept, would you believe we have a hose pipe ban.
