We drove from Cooinda to Darwin. We arrived at a place where we had lunch and went into a Wetlands Centre. We saw and learned about lots of Northern animals and their habitats, and watched a movie about floods and how lots of animals die when there is a flood. Then we went to the jumping croc cruise. We stayed the night in Cooinda and got up early and drove to Nourlangie and saw more Aboriginal art but it was different to Ubirr. At Nourlangie there were more warning stories such as; an aboriginal person was fishing and caught a fish and then someone cut the line and stole the fish. Kakadu - Gunlom September 14 - today we drove from Edith falls to Gunlom which is in Kakadu national park. We had to drive out a corrugated dirt road to get out to Gunlom, we had a feu loose cupboards and our big aerial fell off the front of the car. When we got into Kakadu the termite mounds got to 2-3 meters tall and 1-2 m meters wide, they also changed colour because of the different colour of the dirt. Edith falls September 12 - today we drove from lovely Mataranka to lovely Edith Falls. When we arrived at Edith Falls we set up and went for a 2km hike up a rocky hill to a waterfall and water hole.
