Waking feeling remarkably good for only 2 hours worth of sleep, we wolfed down breakfast & were soon back on the road to Rockhampton in order to catch our connecting bus to the town of 1770 in Agnes Waters. The town was exceptionally small & didn't have much to do, so we chilled at the hostel & made use of their BBQ & bar for that evening. Still feeling tired from the cattle rance, we called it a night fairly early only to be awoken by some loud drunk people who weren't even staying in our room. After kicking them out & shouting at some exceptionally loud Germans to quiet down, we finally managed some shut eye.
The following day was as equally as chilled as we weren't due to start our Scooteroo until later that afternoon. This would have been our first time on bikes since the infamous Kuta crash of March 2011! We arrived & were kitted out with a helmet & authentic leather jackets before finally being given a motorbike. They were all pimped up to look like Harley Davidsons, but thankfully limited to 50cc. Now we looked the part, we just needed to master controlling the beasts. A few circles of the car park later & we were ready to hit the road.....not literally! With Steppenwolf's 'Born to be Wild' playing in my head, we cruised through some scenic countryside & along the beach to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the ride back wasn't as fun as it decided to open up a torrential downpour on us. The rain stung our faces & restricted our vision, so it was a careful, slow ride back. But it did mean that I had lasted 3 hours on a bike with no broken bones & without the aid of stabilisers!!
