I've been watching this house all summer. The man is adding "coins" to the corners, as well as defining the entry with a stone-like embellishment. He uses a machine that's a lot like a hair dryer to apply the plaster, then smooths it out. If you look carefully, you may see how he outlined the perimeters of his decoration.
