Ullysses and Polyphemus, 9th book of Homer's Odyssey
Polyphemus, the Cyclops (pictured with third eye on his forehead) sits with a slaughtered lamb ready to be eaten. The eye is thought to symbolize the volcano in which he lives. Ulysses offers him a goblet of red wine hoping to get him drunk so he can blind him. He succeeds.
