1566, an important year for Scotland! A bad year for Mary!
James, son of Mary & Lord Darnley, was born in a small room in the Edinburgh Castle in 1566. He became James VI of Scotland. Mary's second husband Darnley (mother of James) was killed in an explosion. Some think her third husband, The Earl of Bothwell, orchestrated his murder. She went on to marry the Earl of Bothwell, & had to flee the country. Her son was taken from her, & she had to abdicate in favor of him. She never saw him again. And from then on, her life was miserable.
