But the big thing was that the shutter on the right here was missing. And shutters are very important in this climate. They serve as insulation against the hot sun. This summer it got up to 100 pretty often, during a 5 week "canicule". Shutters are very expensive, & require a "menuisier" (carpenter). Ours was M. Legat, & he's 80! A real gem. The project, between him measuring, installing once, then me painting them 3 coats, then him re-installing them, took 3 weeks.
