Another incredible Roman achievement, this road stretches through the south of France, along Hannibal's road in the ancient past & today's A9, the east-west toll road that is jammed up every summer weekend. The road went through Nimes, of course! The emperors loved Nimes: the original celtic tribe there agreed to fight with the Romans for their conquest of Gaule. They were well rewarded, & the city thrived.
