Another tower here is devoted to Demetra, which was balls of fire (maybe indicating a volcano). Since our hotel has this name, we couldn't resist taking a picture. Demeter was the Greek goddess of bountiful harvest as well as the goddess of Agrigento. There were lots of volcanoes here, so maybe it makes sense that Demetra is represented as volcano action.
