Went on a safari today but started the day late today after going out to 360 and Rockbottoms (not as seedy as some say but it was a weeknight after all)... Was picked up by our tour guy Albert who was from Uzbekstan (however you spell it) and went out of town towards the desert. Stopped by some shops first to meet with the other 20 or so 4WDs from the same tour company where they deflated their tyres. Got to hold a baby falcon which was nice but the poor thing ...

Arrived in Dubai safe and sound this morning. The heat isn't too bad here... but it is still Spring apparently. The place is amazing, well what Candy has shown me so far anyway... apparently there are cruddier sides to Dubai too. Slept for a few hours before venturing out since Candy only arrived back from Newcastle as well. Went to Madinat Jumeirah first which is a hotel with shopping as well... absolutely gorgeous and managed to get some photos of Burj Arab....

1 more day!!! After almost 2 years of dreaming/talking about going to Europe... its finally happening. Don't think its completely sunk in yet, but I think it will hit once I say goodbye to friends and family tomorrow and get on the plane. Hopefully I will be able to update this blog regularly, not just so that you can all see what I'm up to, but knowing my shoddy short term memory, I'll probably need it to remember what I've done. Tata for now... back to packin...
