The Mauri Lord of the forest - We visited the Waipoua Forest to see the largest collection of Kauri Trees in NZ = many were felled when europeans came over and used for building and building ships. This tree is special to the Mauri as it is the tallest in the forest at 51m (rumoured to be 1200-2000 yrs old)
