Our main aim today was to get as close as we could to Monument Valley so we can spend close to all of tomorrow there. Today started out across flat, featureless prairies. Not too far out of town we passed a massive cattle yard which was very on the nose. I realised too late I'd not put the Cadillac ranch in the GPS so I guess we'll have to come back some time to check that out. We spent the morning paying some bills and putting in an order with premier. We booked two nights back at the same hotel in LA as we stayed at when we arrived this time and advised them we were getting the order sent to them. It's another nice day, blue skies and warm. Initially we were on Route 66 but for the most part we were on back roads through Ok and into Tx. As soon as we crossed the state line the speed limit shot up from 65 to 75mph. Good old Texas lol...

Sat Oct 8th: It was a gorgeous warm, blue sky day. We set off after breakfast again heading west with no definite destination in mind. We set off west after breakfast into Tennessee through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This morning we were feeling the effects of the edges of Matthew. It rained almost constantly and when not raining was still gloomy. For all that many of the trees were wearing their autumn colours. Another cool but clear day in North Carolina. Again Larry made us breakfast while we did some more work. Larry went for a run and just after he returned he noticed the horses had gotten out of their paddock and were happily grazing on the front lawn lol. He bolted out and asked what they thought they were doing, they instantly kicked up their hooves and bolted up the long driveway back to where they should be! It was so funny, they were like naughty kids who knew...
