Arriving in Omaha City at 06:15 Wednesday morning. The first night on the train was a little difficult, but the second night was much better as I had become adjusted to the best sleeping positions and slept right through the night.Looks like our first day with no clear blue sky, as the locals would say, heading into the dark and gloomies.This will be our last day on the AMTRAK as expect to arrive in Chicago around 16:00 this afternoon.

Glenwood Springs Train trip through the famous American Rockies. The sights are just amazing and even some snow still left around from last winter, with the new winter just months away. All those incredible pictures and stories that we see on the National Geographic documentary's are so much better in real life. The train travels between 20-40 mph in the mountains so huge opportunities to see the sights and grab some great snaps. As soon as we get to a wifi loc...

The changing landscapes are incredible to see. From one place to the next the landscape varies with different types of mountains.You see so much of this stuff in the movies, but when you see it first hand it still is quite awesome.

Arrived 04:30 Salt Lake City, still an hour and a half behind schedule, and still 4,500 ft above sea level, all considered a pretty good night aboard the California Zephyr. The train runs so incredibly smooth you don't realise your even moving. The landscapes have been just unbelievable, have the locals on board tell us the best is yet to come, so we are looking forward to the section through to Denver, Colorado.

Finally reached Denver and seems we made up a little bit of time but still about an hour behind. Hopefully we'll make up some more time through the night and get to Chicago with enough time to collect the rental car.
