Even with a relatively inexpensive camera, aided by a long exposure (just under a minute) you can reveal some of the true majesty of the night sky and indeed, the Universe itself. This was taken from the back yard, and even with the city's light pollution the number of visible stars is phenomenal. The only adjustment to this picture has been an enhancement of contrast which highlights the stars a little against the background light - nothing is in the picture, which wasn't already there.
