With some time to kill at Harwich, we found a beach Cafe at Dovercourt, which is the adjacent seaside resort. Dovercourt was where my Granfather had been stationed prior to going to France in the first world war and I thought of him here, 99 years ago, having a daily swim in the sea and chatting up the young lady at the fish and chip shop (details he revealed in his diary which we still have).
