Following on from the quote on the previous page (from "Going To California" by Led Zeppelin), I was once accused of repeating too many cloud pictures - one was evidently much the same as the other. Today I read a pertinent quote which summed up one of the many aspects of my life philosophy. It is by Walter Pater and it concerns my assertion of the importance of observation: "It is only the dullness of the eye that makes any two things seem alike". A C Grayling comments on Pater's theme that promoting the powers of discernment and observation enriches the quest for the resources key to a fulfilling life; those of art, love and the pursuit of knowledge.
