Ian was my favourite act of the night. His songs were generally not completed, or they morphed into something else, or they quietly fizzled out. Somehow, at the end of the evening, I ended up accompanying him on stage to an impromptu version of Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula". Immediately afterwards, the organiser asked me to leave the stage. Anyway, Ian's act chimed with my shambolist tendencies - thanks Ian, you are cordially invited to become a member of the Shambolist movement (and that is an honour rarely dished out).
