From La Canyada there is a regular train/tram service to downtown Valencia. Spain's public transport (at least in the places I've experienced) is generally more comfortable than London, especially concerning capacity. I would say that for the majority of overhead train trips I make into London, I have to stand and be jostled by the hordes.
