In the aptly named location "Plaza De La Virgen" the bride, with her groom, paused and aimed a smile at my camera. Non verbal communication, as is often noted, can be so expressive. It was Professor Albert Mehrabian's research which came up with the now famous—and famously misused—rule that communication is only 7 percent verbal and 93 percent non-verbal. The non-verbal component was made up of body language (55 percent) and tone of voice (38 percent). Like so many aspects of human discovery, this may add weight to the idea that our self proclaimed lofty status versus other animals may well be misplaced since, our ability to articulate words is not quite as differentiating as we might once have hubristically imagined.
