When we'd reached Meissen, we'd thought we might stay the night there, but having had lunch, and then in ten minutes seen the famous Schmuck shop and also done the town in its entirety, we opted to press on to Gorlitz. Gorlitz is Germany's most eastern town and (obviously) in the former East Germany. The quietness and emptiness of this entire country is actually what strikes us most.
